Shelby Job

Shelby Job is a seasoned communications leader with more than a decade of experience in management, event planning, and strategic communications. She joined the Arizona Medical Association is 2020, and she currently serves as its Director of Communications & Marketing. In this role, she drives the organization's award-winning marketing, communications, and PR strategies across multiple channels, including media relations, website design, social media, email marketing, and advertising.

Shelby brings a thoughtful mix of strategy, creativity, and execution to her work, helping ArMA strengthen its influence, engage physicians statewide, and fulfill its mission. Her leadership has elevated ArMA's brand and deepened its connection to both its members and Arizona's broader healthcare community.

In addition to leading ArMA's marketing and outreach efforts, Shelby plays a critical role in organizational leadership by staffing the Communications Committee, Resident & Fellow Section, Medical Student Section, and Access, Community & Inclusion Taskforce. Through this work, she helps cultivate the next generation of physician leaders while advancing ArMA's mission.

She is a graduate of the American Association for Medical Society Executives (AAMSE) Leadership Academy and the American Medical Association Political Action Committee's (AMPAC) Campaign School, programs that have further sharpened her expertise in physician advocacy, organizational leadership, and healthcare policy.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Shelby graduated cum laude and with Highest Distinction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor of arts in English and a bachelor of science in earth, society, and environmental sustainability. Her academic achievements include a thesis on arboreal climate change adaptation. Prior to joining ArMA, she led over 200 events annually at the University of Illinois Research Park, building a foundation in stakeholder engagement and high-impact communications.
