    We welcome all to attend the 2026 Health Care Awards Gala, which is open to the public and will celebrate excellence in the healthcare community. 

  • What is the Arizona Medical Association?

    Founded in 1892, the Arizona Medical Association is the strongest advocate, ally, and resource for Arizona’s physicians and physicians-in-training. Alongside our members and stakeholders, we are fostering the practice of medicine, championing patient care, and strengthening the communities we serve.

  • Are refunds available if I'm unable to attend?

    Full refunds will be made for cancellations made at least 30 days prior to the event. If you find yourself unable to attend, please reach out to communications@AZmed.org.

  • What is the dress code?

    Attendees are encouraged to wear black-tie formal attire.

Recognizes those who go above and beyond to help underserved communities receive medical care and other health services.

The Health &

Fitness Award

Presented to an Arizona resident or Arizona organization that demonstrates extraordinary commitment to the health and fitness of Arizona residents.

The Distinguished

Service Award

ArMA's highest honor recognizes a member or Arizona organization that goes above and beyond, making a significant impact on the community. 

The ArMA & ADHS Public Health Service Award

Presented jointly with the Arizona Department of Health Services to an individual or organization that has contributed to public health.

The Award in Memory of Edward Sattenspiel, MD

Intended to recognize ArMA member physicians who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to organized medicine. 

The Wallace A.

Reed, MD Award

Recognizes individuals or organizations for excellence in healthcare, medical, or patient-facing innovations.

The Walk the Talk Award

Recognizes Arizona residents or organizations that go above and beyond in their support of medicine or patients, often in health policy-related matters.

The National Leadership Award

Presented to an Arizona physician who has served in a leadership position of a national medical organization.




The Rising Star Award

Presented to an ArMA medical student, resident, fellow, or early career physician who demonstrates enthusiasm for organized medicine.

C.H. William Ruhe, MD Award 

recognizes meritorious achievement and innovation in CME, GME, or other professional learning by an Arizona organization that contributes to improved outcomes in physician competency, physician performance, and patient outcomes.

ArMA's immediate past president bestows this prestigious honor to celebrate an exceptional individual who has demonstrated outstanding dedication and contributions to the profession.
