The Award in Memory of Dr. Edward Sattenspiel recognizes individuals who demonstrate a long-term commitment to organized medicine and healthcare advocacy in Arizona. This year, we proudly present the award to Dr. Lindsay Ackerman for her outstanding leadership in organized medicine, both nationally and locally.

Dr. Ackerman is a steadfast advocate for both physicians and patients. Since 2005, she has served as a representative to the American Medical Association, where she has tackled complex legislative and policy issues, tirelessly working to improve healthcare on a national level. Her leadership extends to the Dermatology Section Council, where she has shaped decisions impacting dermatologists across the country for nearly 20 years.

As a founding member of the Arizona Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery Society and a member of the Dermatology Foundation Advisory Council, Dr. Ackerman also influences the landscape of dermatology in Arizona. In addition to her advocacy, Dr. Ackerman is dedicated to fostering mentorship within her practice and through national organizations like the American Academy of Dermatology and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.

Her guidance and support have shaped the careers of many young professionals who will carry on her legacy of improving healthcare.
