Bonnie Simmons
Bonnie Simmons joined the Arizona Medical Association as the Doctor of the Day Program Manager, where she worked alongside physicians and legislative leaders to advance physician advocacy at the Arizona Legislature. She currently serves as a Specialty Society Administrator, providing executive leadership and administrative support to four physician-led specialty societies. As Executive Director for the Arizona Society of Anesthesia, Arizona Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, Phoenix Society of Gastroenterology, and Arizona Orthopaedic Society, Bonnie partners closely with volunteer physician leaders to strengthen member engagement, enhance organizational effectiveness, oversee educational programming, and advance each society's strategic goals and initiatives.
Her professional background spans nonprofit leadership, business operations, finance, project management, and community engagement. She has supported organizations ranging from small businesses to nonprofit and humanitarian initiatives, leading efforts in organizational development, stakeholder relations, financial management, and strategic planning. Bonnie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Throughout her career, she has earned a reputation for bringing people together, creating structure within complex organizations, and guiding teams through growth and change.
Bonnie believes that successful organizations are built on strong relationships, collaboration, and trust. She is passionate about supporting physician leaders, strengthening medical specialty societies, and fostering meaningful connections that advance healthcare and improve patient care across Arizona.
