Statement from the Arizona Medical Association Regarding Governor Ducey’s “Good Samaritan” Executive Order
April 9, 2020 (Phoenix) – The Arizona Medical Association (ArMA) applauds Governor Doug Ducey for taking another step to protect frontline physicians and health care workers who are responding to COVID-19.
“Governor Ducey continues to show support for physicians and the health care community as we work to combat this outbreak,” said Susan Whitely, MD, ArMA President. “This order not only provides protection for those on the frontlines but maintains protections for Arizona citizens during these uncertain times.”
During the COVID-19 emergency, health care in Arizona has rapidly evolved and responded to follow guidance and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and directives from state, county, and federal officials. Arizona’s physicians are navigating these changes to implement the appropriate care, acquire personal protective equipment, and maintain the overall safety of their staff and patients.
